APP Catalogue re-mastered and re-released (Posted July 2006)
Sony/BMG are re-issuing 9 re-mastered Alan Parsons Project albums next year and are also working on new compilations. A new 3 CD compilation (with remastered tracks) will come out this year in Holland and Italy and then an edited version in the rest of the world in January.

DANCING WITH SHADOWS - Eric's new musical (July 2006)

ERIC IMPOSTER ALERT (Posted June 2006)
It has come to our attention that a man claiming to be Eric Woolfson is introducing himself to people in America, particularly in California.

This individual is not Eric Woolfson and it may also be useful to know that Eric is 6 foot 6 inches tall. A relatively recent photo of him is also on this website. If you meet or are introduced to anyone who claims to be Eric Woolfson, please check this against the above information.

If this has happened to anyone else, can we please urge you to have no further contact with this individual and to report the matter to your local police authority.

From what we have been told, the individual is extremely pleasant and we suspect that his objective may be to obtain money by deception.

This is an unfortunate situation and although it is obviously nothing to do with Eric, we are sorry for any upset this may have caused to people who are genuninely interested in Eric and his work.

NEW APP COMPILATION  (March 2006)
For many years fans have looked at compilations and said "why didn't they include my favourite song?" Now is your chance to have your say! Sony/BMG is planning to release a new compilation and for the first time ever fans of The Alan Parsons Project will have input into the songs selected.

Looking back at the first ten albums from The Alan Parsons Project (see list below), please rank your top three favourite tracks. Also tell us in 25 words or less what makes your top selection your favourite APP track.

Email your entry to: taopoll@theavenueonline.info. All entries must be received by midnight on Sunday, April 2, 2006 . Remember to include your full name with your entry; one entry per person please.

Once the entries are collected, they will be forwarded to Sony/BMG where they will select the winners. Some of those fan testimonials may be selected to be immortalized in the CD booklet. There will also be ten autographed copies of the new compilation available to be won.

This is a fabulous opportunity to help create the best Alan Parsons Project compilaton ever, so get those entries in as soon as possible!

Rules: The closing date for all entries is midnight on 2nd April 2006 . Following the closing date, a selection of the entrants will be chosen to have their fan testimonials reproduced in the CD artwork for the new APP compilation. The judge's decision shall be final. UPDATE ON ERIC (July 05)
After another 5 weeks in hospital following a major infection, Eric is now home and fully on the road to recover after this second set-back. He is currently working on the workshop for his new musical with Ariel Dorfman and continuing to enjoy his grandchildren! He thanks everyone who wrote such kind e-mails and notes in the Forum wishing him well.

ERIC
Some of you have been enquiring as to why there have not been more updates on the developments with Eric's projects. Unfortunately, he has had to undergo some major surgery from which the recovery time will take several months. However, the prognosis is excellent and he's looking forward to making a full recovery in due course. We thank you for your understanding in relation to the delay this will cause to certain projects.

GAUDI & GAMBLER ENCORE EDITIONS
We apologise for the delay with the GAUDI and GAMBLER cast albums. These have not been forgotten – in fact we have already recorded a never before heard 7 minute orchestral overture for GAMBLER which we’ll be including on the encore edition. These albums will eventually be released but I think it is best that we stop committing to deadlines that we keep missing for now and announce the release date when it is imminent. If you join our mailing list, we will e-mail you as soon as there's a release date.

I am pleased to say that the delay is being partly caused by the number of new projects that we are working on which is making it hard to find time to re-visit these older works! Thanks again for your patience.

Balsamo performs Immortal at 'Musicals in Ahoy' concerts
We are proud to announce that STAGE HOLDINGS, Joop van den Ende's Theatre Production Company, invited Steve Balsamo to perform as a special guest at their prestigious 'Musicals in Ahoy' concerts in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, June 2004. Steve performed Immortal from Eric Woolfson's POE as well as Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. He received a standing ovation and rave reviews including the following:

"Few members of the audience in the filled to capacity event-hall will have ever heard the name Steve Balsamo, but from the moment this 'special guest' from England starts singing in a whispered voice, the audience is quiet. Dead quiet.
